The Beginning of Burberry
Thomas Burberry was the founder of Burberry. An apprentice draper, Burberry was 21 when he made moves to start building his empire. He began designing and producing Burberry clothes in 1856, after opening his own outerwear store in England. Burberry knew how important it was to get his brand name noticed, and so arranged for some of the UK’s top politicians to wear his clothing. It wasn’t until after Thomas Burberry had passed away that the brand made the transition to high-fashion. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s Burberry began making the move to ready-to-wear. They incorporated their signature check pattern into Burberry tote bags, accessories, clothing and other items.
From Bad Reputation to Blossoming British Brand
Since the turn of the millennium, Burberry clothing has been under the guidance of designer and CEO Christopher Bailey. Bailey was creative director for thirteen years before being promoted to CEO. Burberry has thrived beneath Bailey, rising from a drop in esteem within the public to become a brand once again synonymous with class and style. Burberry is a highly-recognised name today, with stores and points of concession all over the world. They distribute collections of outerwear, ready-to-wear, bags, accessories, shoes and fragrances, split into three lines: Prorsum, London, and Brit. A delectable selection of Burberry handbags, clutch bags and other styles are available in each line.
Beautifully British Bags
Emulating all the class, style and superiority of the British fashion scene, Burberry has been producing proper-calibre English clothing for well over a century. Burberry clutch bags are no different. Crafted from the finest materials and sometimes rendered in Burberry’s signature check-pattern, the brand’s travel bags are the epitome of luxe - perfect for bringing along on a weekend getaway to the countryside. Many celebrities are fans of the brand’s bags, with supermodels such as Suki Waterhouse and Cara Delevingne being spotted toting them in the past.
Burberry Travel Bags Today
Under the designership and leadership of CEO Christopher Bailey, Burberry has redeemed itself from an unsavoury reputation to become top of Britain’s list of designers once again. If you want to treat yourself to a beautiful bag perfect for stolen moments and secret getaways, make it a Burberry backpack or travel bag.
